
Mary Reyes Sanchez is a graduate of New Mexico State University where she earned both a Master of Music degree, with emphasis in conducting and a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Students of the trumpet studio consistently receive first division ratings at solo and ensemble festivals. His students have won the International Trumpet Guild Youth Scholarship Competition, been accepted to the Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Program, selected as members of the Texas All-State and New Mexico All-State bands as well as the Dallas Youth Orchestra and Fort Worth Youth Orchestra. Sanchez has just celebrated twenty years as a trumpet teaching artist. Smith, Lee Greenwood, Sandi Patty, Tony Campise, Mariachi Cobre and a host of others. He has performed with the Fort Worth Symphony, Lyric Stage of Irving, Uptown Players of Dallas, Richardson Symphony, North Texas Wind Symphony, the Texas Ballet Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and with such artists as Michael W. Sanchez can be heard on The Golden Apple, one of the top ten opera recordings of 2015 as selected by Opera News.

to southern California.Īs a professional musician Mr. Sanchez has completed recordings under the PS Classics Label, the GIA Windworks Label and has appeared at the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Festival, College Band Directors National Association and Texas Bandmasters Association conferences, as well as other venues from Washington D.C. He is a past winner of the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Scholarship Competition and was active as a counselor at the Mile High Jazz Camp in Boulder, Colorado. Sanchez is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.

While at NMSU, he held the position of Trumpet Assistant, director of the second jazz ensemble, and held an additional assistantship with the Las Cruces Symphony.Īcademically, Mr. Sanchez was on the faculty as a Trumpet Teaching Fellow and undergraduate chamber ensemble director. While attending the UNT College of Music, Mr. A Bachelor of Music Education degree was completed at New Mexico State University. Sanchez is a graduate of the renowned University of North Texas where he earned a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance with a secondary emphasis in Jazz Studies.
